INTRODUCTION/ BACKGROUND.

 

Angelic Kids Foundation is a registered Non-Government Organization with NGO number 47830 operating in Kenya. Our offices are located in Huruma -Madoya along Daniel Comboni road in Nairobi The major objective of the foundation is to change lives and empower the future generation through provision of quality education and mentor-ship.

 

OBJECTIVES.

 

1. To create platform where orphans, disabled, and Girls from humble background can discover their unique gift/talent and be nature.

 

1. To educate and help especially girls to live responsible life through integrated  development programs We address physical, educational ,social, and moral needs of neglected, poor orphans , street children and young people aiming at providing better future for them ,restoring human dignity ,self-respect and self- esteem .

 

1. To provide basic education and skills training to youth to promote cooperation between them through social, technical and recreational activities.

 

1. To develop a sense of responsibility among the children and youth and their ability to build the nation.

 

1. To sensitize the public in activities such as education and lobbying as may be to further all or any of the fore going objectives and to remind the public of their responsibility to be actively involved in the promotion of the youth in the community especially on the ground of education.

 

1. To sensitize young people to create public awareness on the HIV/Aids pandemic advocating on the abolishment of stigma against them.

• To develop infrastructure that match the growing needs of Angelic Kids Foundation as a reputable Children center in Kenya

• To obtain resources to support the mission and realize a reasonable benefit for the key stakeholder.

• To network with Agencies/NGOs working with orphans, Needy, Vulnerable and Disabled children among other for mutual benefits and referral support.

• To create awareness among children and communities in matters concerning children’s health issues like home hygiene, water source maintenance, training members in all preventive measures concerning health related problems in schools and communities.

 

STRATEGIES

Angelic Kids Foundation has prioritized four strategies in order to achieve these goals during the coming Five years. These strategies are:

1. Develop capacity through collaboration with reputable Non-governmental organizations and Government agencies.

2. Take the services to the users, child advocacy and community outreach.

3. Increase the variety of resourceful projects through vocational education and other viable projects as they will be identified in the due course.

Angelic Kids Foundation History

 

Angelic kids foundation was started in 2016 at Huruma -Madoya along Daniel Comboni road in Nairobi with an aim of helping the less privileged ,orphans and vulnerable in the community .The institution commenced operation with one classroom. Since its inception, it has grown tremendously. These orphans, girls, streets, disable & unable children are taught under strong Christian foundation and values, the concept of fair play and caring is instilled to them through the buddy system that is under the jurisdiction of the institution.

 

The institution provides daycare, pre-& primary quality education, special care to children with disability & inability that acknowledges individual potential and ability .The institution is a day care centre. The school runs a program of rigor that encompasses academic, culture, social and sporting activities. To achieve this, the foundation emphasizes on the key elements of numeracy and literacy. The corner stone of all these achievements are the facts that local community and staff. Angelic kids’ foundation is proud of its active and positive management which prioritizes expenditure to ensure that available resources are kept current and transparently accounted for.

CENTER OF OPERATION.

 

This organization is fully registered and operates under the rules and regulations of the government and United Nations child protection act. Its office is situated in HurumaMadoya slum--along Daniel Comboni road .The organization has a concern that desperately requires the funding to build orphans & disable-care centre in Madoya. Currently child rehabilitation and learning takes place in temporary and dilapidated shanties. The parents of these children are chronic victims of poverty and live in undoubtedly dilapidated shanties and spend less than a dollar a day.

 

This foundation operates within its small office in Madoya. Orphans and disabled children learn , get counseled  and guided, but with time, the demand would supersede the capacity the organization because the number of children increment claws grip the slums at the gull level ,we have broaden the objectives to include formation of intervention methods to assist in the absorption of the additional population. The organization broadened its perspective to include the disabled and the unable within Kenya. Moreover, third world countries are engraved in tight economic web. 

 

CURRENT ACTIVITIES

 

Angelic Kids Foundation currently operate a school in Madoya Village, Huruma slums. The school only admits children from the underprivileged families otherwise known as orphans and vulnerable children (OVC’S). The school which has a kindergarten section with three levels, and a lower primary section with grades one to three is housed in a temporary iron sheet structure. Apart from academics, children at the school also receive guidance and counseling especially those who are affected by HIV/AIDS. The school feeding program provides a meal a day every school day while co- curricular activities such as debates, educational tours, arts, and music and talent development ensure that the child’s development is all rounded.

 

TARGET BENEFICIARIES

 

The beneficiaries will be the orphans and needy children orphaned due to HIV/AIDS, and other illnesses, needy children from families of the poorest, destitute, homeless and other forms of vulnerable children. The immediate families of these children will also in turn benefit by raising their general welfare through skills development, support their livelihood projects. Community Benefits: Integrating children into the broader community by providing them with shelter and enrolling them in local schools will reduce the social divide so prominent in Mathare society. We hope our efforts will create a safer community with fewer children on the streets struggling for survival.

 

JUSTIFICATION.

 

Children living on the streets of Nairobi experience tough conditions. They are abandoned and mistreated, then end up falling victims of physical and sexual abuse. In the long run, they turn to solvent addiction and pick pocketing in their desperation. Most of these children are found in Huruma; a slum in Nairobi, and along the streets of Nairobi.

Huruma is a slum area in North of Nairobi, and is home to an estimated 40,000 people. People living there are surrounded by terrible conditions including; flowing sewage and heaps of garbage. In some areas the crime rate is extremely high. It is under these conditions that the street children we help have to survive

With our children outreach program, we do organize a session which is always one day in a month or after 2 months depending on how our funds are; and carry out activities like serving them special meals, give them an opportunity to express their skills in form of dance, music, acrobatics and so on..

We have seen a great positive impact within the children we do reach out to and surely we will say that restoration is being achieved through the street children ministry. Among these street children, are their fellow leaders who are empowered to reach out to their fellow children in turn we achieve a greater restoration among this kind of a community. Most of these street children will request for food and the biggest need which is to be given an opportunity to go to school again. It is therefore our mandate as a team out here to reach out to such category of people in our society bringing healing and restoration.
